Our Father
“Jesus said: “For the Father so loved the world that He sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life.” (John 3.16)
Jesus said: “And this is eternal life: to know you, the only True Father, and Jesus, the Christ, whom you sent” (John 17.3)
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me” (John 14.3)
It started with the Father, and it will end with all things being returned to the Father. It was the Father that so loved the world that He sent the Son. It was the Father that was in Christ, reconciling Himself to the world. It was the Father that made the way for Eternal Life.
But what is this eternal life? It is knowing Him. The ‘knowing’ is all about intimacy, like when a man knows a woman. And ‘Him’ is the Father. It is all about knowing the Father. Our Father, the One who formed us in our mother’s womb. The One who rejoices over us with singing. The Father who delivered us, and set us on our mother’s breast. The Father who loves us, and the Father who sees us as His beloved sons, the apple of His eye.
